Daycare provides an organised and structured programme of
- Social Rehabilitation
- Reminiscence Therapy
- Basic OT needs
- Activities
- Entertainment
The day is structured to suit the capabilities
of the group; however we can and do cater for individual needs if and when appropriate.
The programme is varied from day to day and week to week.
To use the mind we incorporate
quizzes, word games, crosswords, word searches and three types of Bingo! Normal, musical and playing card.
For dexterity we use jigsaw,
table top games, craft-work, painting and knitting as well many others.
To aid mobility we use keep-fit games and run exercise
sessions.
We have enjoyed visits to Woodbury Common, Budleigh Salterton and The Donkey Sanctuary near Sidmouth. We have
taken morning coffee at our local garden centre, A La Ronde and Topsham.
Visitors to our centre have provided musical afternoons,
services for Harvest Festival, Christmas and Easter. We recently have taken advantage of lunchtime concerts, Silver Screen
cinema, and the Farmers Market.
The day is organised, managed and run by our Day Care Team
Leader Sue Moore who is assisted by her staff of volunteers who help run this busy and fulfilling day.
The service is available
to both private service users and those referred under Devon’s Adult & Community Service (Social Services) supported
scheme.
Some service users may be eligible for financial support. Please consult with your local
Adult and Community Care Service (Social Services) Care Manager, telephone 0845 1551 007 (Care Direct) or go to wwww.devon.gov.uk
