Volunteer with us at Age Concern Exmouth to promote the well being of all older people and help to make later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience for the people of Exmouth

Contribution of Volunteers

Age Concern Exmouth supports volunteering throughout and values the impact made by this group of special and dedicated people.  We have c.40 volunteers. 8 being on the Board of Trustees with the remainder working throughout Age Concern Exmouth as Day Care Assistants, Admin Office clerks, Dining Room assistants, Social Activities Organisers, Drivers, Form Filling Advocates and Fund raisers and more. An estimate of their financial worth to Age Concern Exmouth has been established by assessing the number of hours worked and converting this in to monetary value. Appropriate hourly rates have been used for different types of involvement: the amount attributed to volunteers in Age Concern Exmouth is the cost that would otherwise be incurred if they were paid employees, and the amount attributed to volunteers in governance and other roles is the rate that would be payable if external non-executives had been engaged. The result is annually the people of Exmouth benefit from Age Concern Exmouth services, if funded as traditional employees it is estimated that it would cost around £84,084 per annum, this figure excludes any National Insurance, Pension, recruitment or other costs that would normally be associated with employees.

Dedicated volunteers like you to help deliver important services for older people

If you have an interest in volunteering for Age Concern Exmouth you will need initially to contact our Chief Officer (see contact page) or e-mail him ceo@ageconcernexmouth.co.uk

Volunteering is about commitment from both sides. We ask all our prospective Volunteers to consider carefully the commitment sought of them. To find out more please get in touch for a non-obligation chat to explore how you can help us to help others in and around Exmouth.

Volunteering

Age Concern Exmouth like any Age Concern could not perform some of its tasks without the assistance of voluneers.

Volunteers bring skills, experience and value to the services we provide.

In some cases they work along side paid staff, in other instances they may work alone

Volunteer Bank

The "Volunteer Bank" is for people who'd like to offer us some time but perhaps cannot make a firm commitment on a regular basis.

If this is you we'd like to hear from you. We may have opportunities that suit both our needs. In particular we are looking to hold a register of volunteers who could be called upon on and 'ad-hoc' basis thus at a time that suits the Volunteerr's lifestyle
